Subject-Wise Preparation Timeline for CLAT 2027

With the exam expected in December 2026, here is the recommended preparation roadmap starting from April 2026:

Phase 1: Foundation (April — June 2026)

  • English: Build vocabulary (1,000 words), practice RC passages daily
  • Current Affairs: Start daily newspaper habit (The Hindu / Indian Express)
  • Legal Reasoning: Learn fundamental principles — torts, contracts, crimes
  • Logical Reasoning: Master 10 core reasoning types (syllogism, analogy, etc.)
  • Quant: Revise Class 8-10 maths: percentages, ratios, averages, data interpretation

Phase 2: Core Preparation (July — September 2026)

  • Complete at least 2 full-length mock tests per month
  • Build Current Affairs notes from April 2025 onwards (12-month coverage expected)
  • Solve 500+ Legal Reasoning questions with detailed analysis
  • Focus on weakest 2 sections identified from mock tests

Phase 3: Intensive Practice (October — November 2026)

  • 4-6 full-length mock tests per month
  • Section-specific timed tests
  • Previous year papers (CLAT 2019-2026) — all sets
  • Consolidate Current Affairs notes; stop adding new material after November 15

Phase 4: Final Sprint (December 1-6, 2026)
